Reference to the wife of King MacBeth (lived c. 1005-57) from 13th century notitiae in the Register of the Priory of St. Andrews which "profess to be compiled from 'an old book written in the ancient tongue of the Scots'" (Gouldesbrough, 154):

"Machbet filius Finlach ... et Gruoch filia Bodhe, Rex et Regina Scottorum ..." (Gouldesbrough, 156)
