Swordsliper
Reaney & Wilson and Bardsley do not agree on the meaning of the byname Slipper. However, they agree that Slipper is metonymic with Swordslipper. Therefore, their difference in opinion regarding the origin of Slipper also applies to Swordslipper.
"A derivative of ME slipe 'to polish, sharpen', probably a sword-sharpener." (Reaney & Wilson, p. 414 s.n. Slipper)
"Occup. 'a sheather,' one who made swordslips" (Bardsley, p. 738 s.n. Swordslipper)
